Hello, I am an amateur photographer from Sauk Rapids, Minnesota living in Boston. My full name is Gary Jasdzewski, and since few can pronounce that surname, I was dubbed "Gary Jaz" long ago. I have a lot of pictures and decided to share some of them here. The site went up in June of 2003 and is a work in progress. I love making images!

The photos that were taken prior to this year were shot on film and then scanned. I have recenlty gone digital and the results are unbelievable, and I will be posting the pictures this winter. (Note: New digital pix are here).

I am a linguist by training, with an interest in how our brains process first and second languages. I have a Phd in Linguistics from Purdue University in Indiana, and am a research fellow at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston, where I take pictures of the brain while subjects perform linguistic tasks using fMRI and NIRS.
